AUGUST 31, 2007
THANKS FOR YOUR MEMBERSHIP IN THE
NEW BLOOMFIELD AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY!
YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT IS APPRECIATED!
Article III, Section 3. "Memberships dues will be invoiced by August 31st of each year and collected by September 30 of the same year. Membership will be suspended/cancelled if dues are not submitted by October 31."
Regular membership is $25 per person and corporate membership is $100 per business.
Enclosed please find a membership card with your name and address. One card is for you and the other card should be returned to the Society with your membership dues. The cards have been perforated for your convenience.
If you have e-mail, we would greatly appreciate your address so that we can send our bi-monthly newsletters and meeting notices in this manner. It will save a substantial amount of postage by doing so. At the present time we have over 60 e-mail addresses in our distribution list, so this will really help with expenses.
As you know, continued membership in the Society is what we must depend upon to sustain our operations for the year. We presently have 155 members and hope to have more by the end of September. Please help us find new members - relatives, neighbors, old classmates, friends who live in other areas.
Contributions during the past year have been tremendous and generous. Without them, we would not have succeeded in getting the shell building erected. To those who contributed, we hope you will consider helping us again by joining our society this year.

THE BUILDING IS UP, THE WINDOWS ARE IN, THE CONCRETE IS POURED AND THE STUDS HAVE BEEN SET!
Now comes the hard work! We must continue to raise enough money to complete the inside of our building.
Thanks to John T. and Henryetta Cave, A. C. Pearre, Dale Lawson, Richard Rackers and Gracia Backer, the studs have been set and the walls are up for the furnace room, handicapped accessible restroom and kitchen/office.
Several weeks ago, the water and sewer lines were set. Within the next week we hope to get the wiring started. Once the wiring is completed, we will then insulate, hang drywall and install the ceiling. We are getting information regarding the heating/cooling system and will advise you about this effort in the next newsletter.
Kevin Rackers from Kevin Racker's Excavating, provided the sewer and water pipes at cost and contributed his labor as a gift to the Society. Great Central Lumber Company and the Wilson family gave us a great deal for the lumber. Bruce Wilson gave us a tremendous deal for the insulation, drywall and ceiling. We are now working on great deals for the wiring and heating/cooling system.
Missouri Rural Services, owned by Alan Clark and the Clark family, contributed one year of insurance coverage for the building, land and liability purposes.
We so greatly appreciate all those who have given their time and contributions to our Society. If you see them, tell them "Thanks!".
Even though we have received the above mentioned materials, we must continue to raise enough money to complete the inside of our building within the next few months.
The next few weeks/months will be full of work. We need volunteers, sometimes on the spur of the moment and sometimes with at least a day's notice! If you have some time on your hands, please let Dale Lawson know (573-896-4124) what you would like to do or what you can do! We need painters, sweepers, electricians, carpenters and just good ol' volunteers to assist in so many areas.
